Hello All,
I'm new to SEAT's so don't know much at all about them.

I've more or less decided i want to buy a 1.9 TDI Sport 130 6 Speed 3 door. (I assume this is a MK4, as i've seen a 2003 reg one)

Can anyone give me advise on what to look out for if i go view one?

I.e do they have any common faults?

Also a couple of coice modifications.. suspension and probably a remap

does anyone know what these model can be remapped to or if its even worth re mapping it!

Many thanks for your help

Hey Holly (again!)

First thing to look out for on older PD130's will be make sure its had its regular services, cam belt changes when it should have etc etc. Then look at the clutch, thats the only 'weak' standard part. Even running standard bhp/torque they can, and will start to slip. If you can take it for a drive, its worth cruising in a high gear and giving it abit of gas to see if it slips.

Then you just have the usual, front lights misting up, rear washing popping off sort of thing, nothing major :)

In regards to extra power, yes the PD130 loves a good remap! Figures around 170bhp / 280lb.ft are nice from a remap.

Hi,

Iv got a 2003 sport aswell, had it for nearly a year now and no problems (touch wood!) apart from the rear washer hose popping off. As for the remap, I waited 9 months to get it done because I wasnt sure it it was worth it, 9 months wasted I say! Makes it such a better car :D get it done!
