Busted centre armrest....help!!!

Ok so I went to move the armrest this morning and on pressing the little lever thingy there was a loud sort of cracking sound...

Anyway now the armrest wont budge from the upright position, pressing the release lever does nothing....

Sounds to me like there must be something either broken/loose in the linkage that releases the mechanism from any of it's set locked positions, but haven't had a chance to look at it.....

Any ideas guys and girls?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

same thing here mate.

Theres 2 metal arms - 1 on each side of the armrest - that run down the length of the armrest and into the rounded section - these arms are meant to lift UP out of the rounded section when you press the button - thus releasing the armrest and allowing it to rotate by 90degrees.

Easiest way i sorted it was getting a new armrest (without lid) and installing it - was a piece of cake to do - and that way i kept my leather lid without needing to purchase a new one.
I was dead lucky and got a replacement armrest from here - for £20 ish :)

Crap design from an ergonomics point of view though! With it down it's impossible to change gear and put the handbrake on!!! I use mine for storage and thats about it!!!!
