burning smell when pushing the car

Does anyone get a burning smell when they push their CupraR? I pushed mine from about 20 to 100mph but there was a burning smell for a few seconds after i eased off. It happens pretty much whenever i push the car. Any taughts?
It was a private track just incase i have anybody at me for speeding

You must be a professional athlete pushing your car to 100mph.

And no, mine doesn smell like its burning if I do the same. Have you checked for any signs of fluid leaks? Would only take a small amount of oil/coolant/power steering fluid etc on a hot surface to make it smell.

You are warming the engine up properly and getting the oil upto working temperature?

About 10-15mins driving before you should give it the full throttle!

10 - 15 mins, I nail it as soon as temp has come up to norm

How do you know when the oil is at working temp without a gauge?

You cannot go off your engine coolant temp, it has nothing to do with oil temp!

Never hurt any cars ive ever owned, but yea your right I try and wait before sticking my toe down, trouble is I drive a diesel company focus, when i jump in the lcr its hard to tame her, Im not the most patient guy.


Its not a trait for the lcr to smell of burning believe it or not
Does this happen ever time you accelerate hard, how many miles has it got? may be due a clutch but saying that you would proberbly notice that

How many miles has it got on it? Turbo outlet hose has been known to split slightly and you get a faint burnt oily smell coming through as it's right near the pollen filter...

id check around the turbo area for anything amiss as this is going to get the hottest . is there anything touching it or melted? maybe pop the bonnet as soon as you can smell it without switching off see if there any smoke?

my lc dosnt do it and its now pushing high bhp
