I just got hold off a splitter to fit to my yellow leon fr tdi - will it suit yellow?. but i am worried about putting self tapping screw in bumper. Cud they damage the bumper and also when the screws rust could this be a problem...is the splitter really worth it?

Dont worry, i think the splitter looks ace on yellow leons. mine does, ive no pictures but they always look better in the flesh anyway. had to take the bumper off mine to do it, and used a couple of bolts with washers on to make sure it wasn't going anywhere. its well worth it tho. Just adds that little extra to the front. Get a mate to help if needed mine ended up fitting it for me.

Yea there will be holes in the bumper, i had in ibiza before my leon, and when i took it off there were holes left where my splitter was (i moved it to leon) but you cant see them unless you look under the car. even then, they're only screw holes. you cant see them with the splitter on.

Screw rust... mmm i dont think there is much of a problem they'll not rust enough for the splitter to drop off, you can always buy treated screws that won't rust i think. Like i said i used a few bolts with some washers so the load of the splitter is distributed a bit more so if i scrap it the screw won't rip through the bumper... so the theory goes. I have used a couple screws aswell. Its been like that for 3 months not a problem so far. and my mate who fitted it has had one on his on for over a year.

Affect Warranty? Ummm, no...
....i have had warranty work done with 19's, lowered 90mm, Induction, Full Custom Exhaust, a Dec-Cat pipe, a different rear bumper... oh AND an LCR front splitt-arse.

You'll be fine matey :D

And as for the holes.... unless you are going for the individual look the hole will be on the 'underside' of the bumper and hence not visible ;) I wouldnt worry about it matey...
