BTCC: We're at mid season without SEAT works and SCC; a nod to the past...

Got my YRC e-mail today from Hannah (Hunnie79) that there are 4 weeks until part 2 of this years BTCC. I went down to our local round at Thruxton to see the YRC car and met a few of the SCN crowd, but haven't felt so compelled to make the journey in '09 with the lack of the SEAT works team to support.

I had a quick scan back to some of the photos I'd taken in the past to remind me how SEAT Sport Northern South endured season after season of fight against Vauxhall 888 / Team Dynamics Civic, and remembered they were some really good times. As it's Friday afternoon, and anyone could do with a wind-down up to the weekend, here are a few of my memories from the days when SEAT played a major part / presence in the BTCC pitlane. We can only hope those days may soon be revived. The Championship may never have been ours, but they were good times.

My biggest regret for the team is that too many changes were made. Every season they introduced something new and they never really gave themselves the chance to work on developing what they had. They had to phase out the Toledo and introduce the Leon as the relplacement anyway but I think had they worked on the TFSI Leon of 2006 and 2007 instead of working on promoting TDI we would/could have seen a much stronger Leon in 2008.

With new rules expected to be certainly I think hammered out before any implimentation for 2011 what are the odds of SEAT returning with the Exeo?
