Broken Fog Light Lens !

Trident

Guest
Just noticed today that I have a broken lens on my fog light.
It is cracked right across the lens but no glass is missing so the insides are all still fairly intact and undamaged.

Questions:
Can I buy just a replacement lens or is it a whole unit replacement part?

Is it an easy replacement for me to do or is a trip to the dealer required?

Anyone know how much it is going to set me back for either a new lens or the whole unit.

Mucho thanks for any advice anyone can give me.

If there is no sign of impact damage and you regulary drive with the fogs on (not saying you do) but my point is that i know there are issues with fog lights on both astras and the new civics where a crack appears across the centre of the light due to quite frankly poor quality, given that only a handfull of manufacturers must make fog lights for everybody may be an industry problem I know they are replaced by vauxhall but not honda maybe as an outside chance you could try a warranty claim.......

My passenger side fog light also cracked on my 2005 Altea, with no visible sign of stone chip impact. Rarely drive with fogs on though (only when foggy) but having said that, earlier this year we had quite a few mornings where fogs were needed. I noticed it had cracked about 3 to 4 weeks ago.

As a precaution I've bought a spare off ebay for the drivers side (good price, so couldn't pass it up) but my passenger side remains to be fixed. Mode, interesting that you say this could be a more widespread problem. Anyone else had this problem?
