was drivin back from a mates this mornin and as soon as i put my foot down the car spluttered, lost power and stalled. now it wont start, the fuel pump is working so im just wondering wether it wud be blocked lines or fuel filters? does anyone have a pic of where i should be looking to trace the filters???

filters in the back by the tank

first place to check is under the seat as the fuel pipe has a habit of opening up and sliding off the top of the pump

well i replaced the filter at the back today and also made sure all hoses were secure on the pump but still no joy. its deffo a fuel problem. think it mite hafta be a garage job

Have you checked all the usuals???

HT leads, Dizzy Cap, rotary arm, Ignition Coil, sparks?? throttle body??

Mine was playing up and sorted these things out and running like a dream

yep done all them, do many mechanics have this "vagcom"? i may aswell get my abs sorted out while its in, and will that thing say wots wrong with me car too??

just got me car back. 180 quid down now! injectors cleaned, ignition coil and summit else changed, fair play its so much quicker now thats been done!!

cleaned all the injectors and changed summit else, oh and i told him to tell me why me abs was on, god knows how much that is to plug in nowadays

thats bumped the price up abit then! was a nearside rear sensor, how much is one of them nowadays, i cud do that myself cuz there a piece of piss ent they?

£60 a pop to plug in if I recall correctly on my last trip to a stealers :(


do SEAT call this a "diagnostic check" i have 2 bills in the folder i got with my cupra sport with them, and i think they are around £60 too..

came up good though :D

We don't charge anything for a dianostic check, we are not seat dealers though but have the snap on diagnostic tool at £3000, if they cleaned the injectors properly it would mean sending them away to get cleaned using a sort of ultrasonic cleaner, this isn't cheap so thats whats probably put your price to £180 and i guess if they charged you £60 to link it up to the diagnostic equipment that too.
