The brembo brakes on my ibiza have felt pretty pants since i bought the car about 6 months ago (even worse than the standard brakes on my mates vw passat), i have changed the brake fluid but this has made no difference what so ever. After searching the forum, i have seen that a few people suggest a sticky piston could be responsible for poor brake performance, and thus i have decided to strip the calipers down, clean them up and re-grease. Does anyone know the best way to remove the pistons from the calipers? or if anyone has ever done this then a guide (or any tips) would be greatly appreciated  ;)

Cheers,
Greg

blow them out.. push some air into the inlet and they will move outward until one pops out. then you wiggle them whilst pulling them out now they're sticking out

make sure you dont damage the dust covers while poping them out as old rubbers may rip try to remove the dust covers first as they are just a push fit use a screwdriver or something similer, damaging the dustcovers can be costly as i bought a repair kit for mine cos my dustcovers were shagged so did seals to 120 quid just be careful and take your time, i used a footpump with a old school football pump adapter and a piston spreader good luck!!!
