ive just got rid of my evo6 and over the 2 years of owning it ive had brake squeal the whole time..

its got brembo brakes and ive tried using different pads and disc but the squealing is still there

however, im considering buying a leon cupra r very soon and just wondered if anyone has had any squealing issues with their brembo brakes on their leons??

Dont get this problem im afraid! This is normally caused by the vibration between the back of the brake pad and the caliper! I was told years ago to apply copper grease to the back of the brake pads to stop the noice. This solved the problem for me:D. Hope it works for you guys!

If you replace the standard pads for some very hard carbon metallics then maybe but otherwise very little noise even when cold.

You can get a clicking noise when reversing / manouvering (pads shifting in the caliper) which sounds odd but it's not serious.

Upgrade the OEM pads to some Ferrodo DS2500's and replace the brake fluid to Motul or similar and you'll have a setup with way better feel, more confidence inspiring. I always found the OEM setup a little......dissapointing.....
