Brand new cars

Is there anything you can do (or any point in it) to a new car to keep it looking new for as long as possible? The most I've done in the past is just wash the thing carefully when it looked a bit dirty.

But then it was a silver car so it took a while.

Or anything you would NOT do to a new car? I'm guessing the paint I want will show up swirl marks and nasties more than anything else? (Black magic)

I'd say keeping plenty of layers of sealant and/or wax on it from new will help to protect the paint...you cant stop stone chips tho

it will more than likely come with dealer inflicted wirls as standard..

have seen plenty of brand spankers with swirls as there not washed correctly.

Most new cars I've seen - including so called premium brand cars - have had swirl marks of some sort. Not as obvious as an older car of course, but it's not exactly a great start.

A pro detail will get rid of these for you, leaving you with a quality finish that you can keep maintained yourself from then on
