i know this has been done to death but i was hoping if anyone has the time could they please list all the brake calipers that fit directly on to the leon with no mucking about.

im only asking because i live about 5 miles from the biggest breakers in northern ireland and they have mk4 golfs, s3 audis and audi tt etc, if i knew what to ask for i can go in and get them and last time i bought a caliper from them i only paid 30 quid for it...

so i dunno. if any of them give you a 312 upgrade,, or bigger please stick it down here. but please only add if your sure folks. cheers guys.

if it works well i have no problem sorting out for other folks if there readily available.

Its not really the calipers that make a 312mm kit, its carriers. You need Golf mk4 anniversary carriers, thats what I had. Then just use your standard caliper.

The caliper is the same on both 288mm and 312mm brakes.
It's the carriers that you need.

The cars which have 312's are....

Audi TT
Audi S3
Leon Cupra 1.8t
Skoda Octavia RS
Golf GTI 180bhp
Golf GTI anniversary
Golf V6 4 motion
Bora V6 4 motion

There might be more but thats all I can think of now.

Is it Traynors your heading to?

Neil.

You can get the 312 carriers off :

Mk1 Octavia vRS
Mk4 Golf Anniversary
Mk4 Golf V6 4-motion
Mk1 Audi TT (180 and 225 model)
Mk1 Leon Cupra (Early one with the multispokes) I think but not 100%

Please add to the list.

Edit: I was beaten to it.

so it is just the carriers, what if you go above 312, on the likes of the r32 golf. does the TT have a bigger set of brakes the s3 etc.

it is traynors there web site says there breaking a few tasty motors and if i knoew what im asking for it would make sourcing these things easy.

The r32 golf does have bigger brakes alright, 345mm with two piston calipers I think, you would need all the brake parts from one of these, discs, calipers, carriers and pads.
The tt 3.2v6 shares these brakes.

All the other tt's have 312mm front discs same as the s3.

I have the R32 setup .

BRILLIANT !

Plus larger and cheaper than Brembo setup.

See my car and there are a good few pics of the brakes...

I fitted Brembo's on my LC see my posting! ( Brembo mounting brackets) They look good and really effective when used hard. I used LCR discs (323 mm).

i didnt but i think they sell the whole lot complete, i know it isnt a direct comparison but i bought a caliper for the focus and only paid 20 quid for it, so might be worth a call but the have loads of them so i doubt it will be that expensive.
