brake upgrade on my01 tdi

hi

well the garage say that soon i will need new pads and disc's all round..

so can i up grade them if so can some one point me in the right direction onto which ones ..

best place to buy and at what cost would be good :)

will i need to modifly anything or change the calipers ?

oh and will be on a budget so no silly opitions

Easiest, relatively cheap upgrade would be the 312mm TT/Cupra discs and calipers

Clearance is tight on 16" alloys though, so might be worth some investigation if you've got standard alloys

V5 discs are 288mm (x25mm) and the calipers should be cheap from a breakers ... might even have a set of these in the garage ... but perhaps not worth the effort

have 17's cupra alloys

sorry to sound dim but whats V5 , just really looking for someone to tell me which ones and were to get them from and what is needed to fit them as i know totally nothing about brakes and sizes

You can only fit the 312mm brakes if your hubs have removable caliper carriers. if you have removable carriers, you can fit the 312mm carriers from a mk4 golf for example and refit your calipers to these.

312mm discs will then fit and you can use the same pads as normal.

It's a very easy job to do :)
