When the weather picks up a little in a few weeks, I plan to carry out the following:

Renew front disks and pads
Renew rear disks and pads
Remove all the calipers, strip down, clean and grease the sliders.
Repaint calipers
New fluid and rebleed.

A few questions

1. Am I right in thinking that like most of the VAG cars I've owned, the rear disks have the rear bearings pressed in? Easy to do?

2. Are there any off the shelf braided hose kits for the mk2 ibiza? or is it a case of adapting other VAG kits?

3. Any pad recommendations? I'm off to the ring in the summer hence the reason why I'm making sure everything is in top notch condition, so I want a pad that will take a bit off stick, but 99% of the time will be used on the road so must work well from cold.

Also while everything is apart, might takle suspension, what would be peoples recomendations for a suspension kit? Comfort is important to me, would like to lower it a touch also, but the main reason is sharpen it up.

Also, front tyres will need replacing shortly, what decent, maybe track orientated rubber is available in 195/45R16? Maybe toying with the idea of dropping to 195/40R16 for a bit better acceleration.................

Hmm decisions decisions.

Suspension wise your best bet might be coilovers for a stiff yet not to harsh ride. I know it feels a lot softer to having shortened suspension set up like bilstein streetlines.

But its gonna cost more for coilovers.

new rear bearings add to the list and the races are easy enough to install

pads i prefer Pagid myself but loads tried and tested

caliper pins if required and usually are are listed as a kit from gsf but its only the boots pt no. F6141154 from ya local ford dealer is best and cheapest option (ford granada uses same lucas brakes)

Not sure of your spec but if your dampers are ok why not go with a front and rear ARB from Neuspeed.

Best upgrade I have ever made and the easiest things to fit in the world.

Koni full kits are going up in April so grab one now and get all the bump stops etc ready assembled to save job time.

Good luck
