evening all,

My car was MOT the other week and passed with flying colour's. However since then i have noticed on several occasions when i brake i get vibrations which are quite strong from the brake pedal and stopping becomes a problem and i usually slide until the brakes grip again. there is grinding aswell. it seems to happen when i hit a hole in the road to while braking. I ain't going fast as i ain't used to the car yet and it happens at speeds of 15mph. anyone any ideas. i am definatley going to take it back and say that i am not happy that it passed its MOT. Got the MOT done at Arnold Clark as a sorry for the mess up they made of the deal. just want to know :wtf: is happening to the car. cheers for any advice

cheers
paul

Might just be a abs sensor problem, could well be nothing to do with the MOT (more than likely not).

Might not have been picked up on the MOT even if the problem was there, if the ABS self checks and the light goes out (which is can if a sensor isnt reading right) and brake forces were ok on the rolling road then it passes.

i see what your saying. tonight i had to brake harshly a few times some my own fault and others not.(but we aint here to judge). The brake pedal seemed to move quite violently and the rumble started and then it was violent grinding and sliding from front of car. if i brake from a distance there is a slight rumble but not that noticeable seems to be when coming to a final stop. i slide for a little bit before i stop which could be a little to late if there is a car in front of me. the steering on some occasions pulls to one side or pulls from side to side. which makes me think its something serious.

nope i dont usually. I meant that the vibrating through the pedal felt like skidding on gravel, I don't think I actually was skidding, could have been gravel on the road but i couldn't see any. loud grinding coming from the front aswell

Sounds like a dodgy sensor to me.

Quick check on diagnostics whilst driving will indicate if one is reading wrong.
