Brake Problem (cupra 160pd) & Some Advice!!

Hi Guys,

I have a 2004 Ibiza Cupra 160PD. When I'm travelling at low speeds and slowly apply the brake I get this weird sound - It sounds like something is grinding. I have had my brakes checked at a local garage and took it to the Seat garage today but both places said there is nothing wrong with it. The pads seem to be find with a 5k left on them. Has anyone else had a simular problem to this?

Also if I replace the pads/discs which ones should I go for? Just the normal standard ones or go for an aftermarket ones?

Also where can I buy them from!

Thanks - All advice is appreciated!

Ben

Does it happen all the time, or soon after you start?

With discs all round they oxidise quickly especially at this time of year with the salt on the road, this can cause the grinding noise.

The fact that the garages have said that nothing is wrong rules out the problems I had with my Scirocco one was a Pad that had worn at an odd angle, and the other was a tarred stone kicked up from the road that lodged itself next to the pad.
