brake master cylinder???

general consensus seems to be i need to replace my master brake cylinder,being a bit on the poor side at the mo have been hunting the bay etc and found a few,does it matter whether it's off o a 16v or does it have to be from an 8v in order to fit my car?? or if it came from a model with abs etc,Sorry,if i'm being blonde but the one from a mk3 looks exactly the same as well to my uneducated eye!! Hellllp!! as one needed asap and one ending soon on the bay,have mailed the seller but dunno if he'll come back t me in time!

Looking at vag-cat, they do seem to be a bit chassis number dependant.....

i couldn't work it out on vagcat!! my chassis no i've got to hand but obviously dunno mateys one,shall i just bid on it as its silly dosh at mo,not a fortune to lose and sure someone on here might relieve me of it if need be
