Brake Lights on, no ones home?

Hi all,
Recently my car battery had gone flat over night and i have eventually found out what the cause is! (i think).
When i leave the car, lock it and walk away. Everything is fine. When i come back to the car later on in the day 9/10 times the brake lights all seem to be on?
Has anyone had this problem?

sounds like the brake light switch is shorting out and bringing your lights on all the time.

Does the Leon have one of those silly plunger-switches at the top of the pedal ?


My sister caught the pedal on her Lupo while she was reaching round trying to get something out of the back of the car and must have clicked the plunger onto it's next self-setting ratchet.
Caused all sorts of problems besides the lights always on though - EPC light on, limp-home power etc etc

Temporarily fixed it by taping a piece of card to the pedal under the tip of the plunger

The new one was pretty expensive IIRC
