Right, a little update, after having a long hard think and speaking with another very helpful member (jonjay) ive decided to go down the universal FMIC route rather than the forge one :) These parts should be ordered in the next couple of weeks, cant wait :D

Brad, am i wrong in thinking your inlet is the passenger side. If so i would of thought you would be best with a intercooler with an inlet/outlet each end. Look on robdon build thread, he has tested alot of intercoolers and gone for a ebay jobbies at under £100. I was thinking of doing this with my pd 150 to try and reduce smoke.

I've got a sidemount, inlet and outlet need to be on the same side on the fmic, same as the one in the picture I put up

If your using the same hoses, but if your making a custom route, and your using the same turbo outlet root as shown above you would realy be better off with a bar and plate with the out let the oposite end to shorten pipe length to the inlet which is the other side of the bay. basicly copying a pd150 set up. Im proberly totaly wrong though.

The best route is the one in the pic shown above, I will run the top pipe under the headlight and into the rest of the intercooler pipework.

Cool. I have had a look but most seem to be "in one end and out the other" coolers. Hard to find one with inlet and outlet on the same side! :(

Best thing to type in is "twinpass intercooler" and the medium or smaller one is exactly like the seat sport one mate ;)

Well fitted my SFS turbo outlet pipe and 1.8t pancake pipe yesterday, here are a few comparison pics of the uprated pipework i have used and oem rubbish lol

Does the SFS fit snuggly over the pancake pipe?

Not sure how I would mate the pancake pipe to SMIC as it has the stupid connecter type thingy! (PD130).

And I take it you can order this pipe separately from SFS, as they normally sell as a pair of hoses?

I got given two connectors, one for either end of the pipe, if you get the sfs pipe with two connectors it will connect straight to your original pancake no problem, I only used one connector as the 1.8t pancake pipe doesn't have a silly connector so it fits perfectly over :) hope that helps mate

Hi mate!

Just wondering why you have chosen to go the universal instead of the FMIC route?

Is it purely price?

The reason I ask is at some point I want to do the same and any advice would be very helpful.

Great build by the way! :D

Your confusing stuff here, the route im taking is going to use a universal fmic and pipework rather than forge, reason being it will cost a third of the price over a forge product, and will work just the same as a forge product, if not, better :) You have a fmic as standard anyway mayte, no point in changing it as jonjay is running 260bhp and 370ftlb on a standard fmic [B)]

Marios :) Is yours weeping slightly at the turbo connector then? I went to the plumbing section at B&Q and theres a small packet of rubber o rings (pack of 4) and i used the one down from the biggest i believe. Let me know if you need one and ill go and get you a couple mate ;)
