Hi all just joined.

Live in Australia. Will get my vze in April. Just have a few questions which I cannot find the answers to online.

I want to know how often do you need to charge the battery when driving in hybrid mode. The car uses a bit of petrol and bit of battery in this mode right? Or do you need to re charge battery every 50km approx like in e mode??

When I get my vze my main aim is to drive in hybrid mode to save fuel. But I my first choice is to delay charging and refuelling as much a s possible. As it seem it will be a nuisance plugging in every day.

Is there anywhere I can see where it tells you how far you can travel in hybrid mode with one charge?

Apologies if this is a stupid question....I'm new to this.

Your help will be much appreciated

God bless
D

Welcome to the club!

In your warm Australian weather 50km pr charge is reasonable if driving in purely electrical mode. It decreases a lot if you need AC heating.
In hybrid mode it varies greatly depending on your right foot and the speed, but expect somewhere in between 100-300 km pr charge, ish. My average is 200km.
When it hits 10% battery it will preserve this level but still use battery on accelerations, meaning it will recharge on straights dropping your petrol mileage substantially.

I have found that if you want to conserve electric charge for longer journeys, pop the transmission/engine in sport mode. That favors the petrol engine and makes it take over at lower revs and speeds - but throttle response is much more aggressive so can quickly end up with a very fun but un-economic ride.

I plug mine in everyday in my garage, it's no hassle. But I also use E-mode often.

Thanks for that ninja you legend.!! That has helped heaps.

I'm assuming that's in one of the manual drive modes....In hybrid mode??

Also if I do charge every day or second day. How may kms can it go on one tank of petrol?? Do you know ?

That's in automatic Sports mode.

When recharging often, you should be able to get 650-750 km pr refuel if driving solely in hybrid. Even more if you pop the transmission in D mode instead of Sport, but thats only if you can maintain the battery above 10% on trips.

My record is just over 2000km between refuels, but that was with the daily commute to work covered mainly by pure electric, so charging everyday.
