Hello all,

bought a leon cupra today, 1st one i've had, really pleased with it, 32,000 miles on the clock, will there be likely to be any up coming technical problems? or will it be ok on that low milaege?

Also fuel consumption, what is the best driving techniques for the lowest fuel consumption 50mph in 6th? 40mph in 5th? if anyone has an optimum economical driving method please let me know,

Hi Ash. Welcome to the madness. Found this to be quite useful: http://www.saywell.net/leon/faq.html plus evrything you're likely to need here on SCN - just remember to do a search in case your question has been answered before.

As for economical fuel consumption, I think you bought the wrong car mate. A 1.8 litre turbo ain't going to be the most economical - I seem to average about 27mpg (according to the trip computer) with a mixture of town driving and B road ragging

Do you really want to plod around at 50mph in sixth gear? Once you've given it the beans a few times it's hard to resist using a bit of weight on the go pedal

Economy, hmmmmmm.

Forget economy, even on long motorway runs I can only average 36 - 37 mpg and thats at a steady 70-80. Steady motorway driving at 90 - 100 (where legal of course, german autobahns etc ) averages around 30mpg.
Short trips and hooning about on the twistys dont even bother looking!

Overall economy over 2 years on trip comp is 29.3mpg.
