when mine does it on my leon I just have to wait for a while - it eventually opens (usually the following day)

There is a method to hitting the lock when its open but i dont like it.. never seems to work for me.

Mine does this, I have now left the cover off the bootlid so I can open it from the inside! The mech seems to need oiling and is fine for a certain amount of time until it happens again. Pain!

yeh maybe a bit of release oil poured in through the lock barrel from the outside would do it since you can't get to it any other way??

either that or wait til it decides it wants to open one day and then get the panel off the inside of your boot and grease it up good and proper :)

pull down seats
remove parcel shelf
unplug the speakers
remove the 4 plastic nuts holding each speaker pod in place and lift off
remove the screw in the boot handle on the inside
remove the 2 screws located behind the little flaps on the inside of the boot lid
grab the boot lid plastic and pull it hard, it will some off
then you can release the boot by pulling the release rod
once opened grease all the moving parts and refit

p.s.. can you tell it happened to me last week
