hi guys just a quick question, when driving if i put my foot down the car will accelerate but will feel really sluggish as if its holding back and then boost all of a sudden, what could this be please guys?
ill check but i think its every gear, def 2nd and 5th (i was testing on motorway and my road) it feels like the turbo should be boosting when it isnt, what are your thoughts mate
Either N75 Valve or MAF id suggest. Mine hits limp mode every now and then. Mines due to the MAF as ive logged it all and its down by about 40gs and ive hade it completly go sometimes to.
might just wait till i take it to get tuned i suppose, i want the ko3s by end of march, so wont have to wait that long, depends on when my turbo back system turns up, i have no gauges either, are you not going for the group buy for a dp then russ?
It was a year this month i got the car off you, just had to buy new tax and insurance plus i need new front tyres, am kicking myself about missing it though. My pockets are empty at the mo!
Not much point in tuning it until you have your problem solved mate, don't wanna be putting extra PSI through the system if its not working correctly as standard....
I'd agree with Russ, limping for sure, check N75 and see if you can direct swap a MAF with another Ibiza, for a quick check. Hooch and I did this when his was playing up some time ago, turned out his N75 valve was the problem.
Think I'm getting a similar problem, sometimes if you just rest on the throttle and slowly build up then put your foot down you get no boost for a few seconds (up to about 4500rpm) then a sudden kick as the boost comes in.
Got my VAGCOM cable this morning so will give it a go at lunch and see what faults if any come up.
cant i just disconnect the mass sensor and try it? my prob sounds exactly the same as yours jking so would you mind letting me know how you get on please, daz
surely if it was going into limp mode then it would do the opposite, pull normal then suddenly die. Doesnt sound like limp mode to me.
Anyway, you could do with getting someone with VAG COM on their laptop to have a look at the requested vs actual for the MAF to see if thats a problem, very common they die in different ways. Also as mentioned a N75 boost control valve could well be faulty. Do a seach theres loads about them on here.
