Hi All,

Just had this issue again (page 2 of below thread) and have the rescue guys coming around in an hour. Does anyone know if this is fixable without a visit to the garage.

This was never an issue until I got the belts changed, do you guys think I have a case for a free repair as its the same issue, although its some 3+ months later.

this is pretty outrageous I think for so many people to have the same problem sometime after cambelt change - could be very dangerous depending just when it goes on you. Mine blew apart again tonight - managed to get it to the garage before they closed and the mechanic showed me where the little lugs on the pipe have worn. He filed them down in an attempt to help it grip the connection so we'll see how it goes - they have ordered the part though in case I need a new one (its only a 10 minute job to change it)

The design of the lugs on the boost pipes are poor. Originally the lugs were hollow and with the movement of the pipe, and removal of the clip it slowly wears down allowing the pipe to move more and eventually disconnect. Changing the pipe is very simple though, just by removing the clip at each end it will just pull out.

I have found that replacing the clips backwards does lead to the pipe disconnecting a lot easier so this would be my first port of call.

The lugs are rubbish, one of my hoses blew off as i pulled away from a set of lights, tried to get the shape of the lugs back using a screwdriver but ended up buying a new hose for £35 and its all sorted now.
