Boost and Funny smell

hey what should a stage one revo remapped for 98 ron boost up to?

mods front mount. for tip and 007 dv.

5th gear is seeing 20 then dropping to 18 psi? is that normal?

also

just had a good ragging and when we parked up (left running)had a wierd smell coming from it. no like a clutch or tyre smell. more oil based!!! i dunno if it was something to do with turboor anything or maybe hot air etc

Also i drove nice and slowly this morning bud like you said and the turbo seems to be louder than usual? Not sure if it's just in my head.... no smells this morn though.

i dont think u got much to worry about mate. u drove it harder home from kent so i wouldnt be to worried. i emailed u a link to read could be something to check

Yeah, 20psi seems normal in 5th (by normal, I mean that's what I get, not got any other figures to compare with)

as for oil smell check your breather system for leaks

had this looked ill post a reply for any one else to check.

was teh gear box linkages i think. that run near to the exhaust. was on the wrong side of the heat shield some how and melting.. push it back under and no smell.

just need to heat wrap it up and patch the heat shield up.

noticed the power steering pump has a small leak. any one have a part number for mk3 cupra steering pump? had a look and cant find anything.

will check the pipes later as i think it might be a degrading pipe
