Right folks, I'm after some advice I would like to get my mirror covers colour coded to match the rest of the car. Question is can the plastic covers I have on there at the moment simply be sanded down and painted? I'm not going to painting them myself it will be getting done professionally. Or should I stop being miserable and just go and buy some primed covers off of ebay first?

Well it's a mate of mine that's going to doing it for £20 for the pair, as far as I remember it's impossible to get the bump strips off without breaking them and having to buy new ones anyway, have a search on here but I'm sure thats the case...
That's why I'm not bothering with them for now.

i didnt realise you could get the plastic wing mirrors painted. i thought u had to buy new wing mirrors completely or get a cover to fit over the existing ones.

you can get the bump strips off, and they dont snap, mines were done this way, just support them enough and peel them off slowly, just dno how u get them back on tbh, bodyshop done mines, but i know they took them off.....i think i paid £25 for mirror caps so £20 is good

the original ones can look great painted and match perfectly if done professionally

i did mine myself with spray cans, the colours perfect but it doesn't quite have the shine of the rest of the car. i'd go professional, especially if its only ?20. bargain

Might just get the bump strips done at the same time, I'll ask when I'm there...
The other tempation is to go and get an LCR splitter as the Seat Dealer is next door...
However I'm not sure if it goes well with the pre-facelift front bumper...

So to get my mirrors and bump strips done at a bodyshop i should expect to pay around £50 ?

Is that a realistic price, so i dont get ripped off
