Another question just before we go for the Leon:

If you do not go for the bluetooth version (with the larger screen) do you still get fuel consumption read-outs, miles to go, speed warning, and the cool graphics showing which door is open?

There's a good deal on an 06 2.0tdi stylance but it doesn;t have the bluetooth, wondering if it's worth holding out for one with the BT

cheers

yes you do... all the features of the small MFD plus lots more. The 'cool graphics' are only on the larger MFD, not the smaller one.

1) Bluetooth (!)
2) Ability to fine tune settings such as coming / leaving home, convenience mirror control, 3 blink lane changing thingy, how the doors unlock, etc
3) Upgraded warnings - washer bottle empty, fuel, etc
4) Upgraded door open - plan view of car showing which door (inc. boot, bonnet) is open
5) With sat nav - on dash navigational instructions (complete with road names) if a destination is active, if no destination active you get the name of the street / road you are on and a compass
6) Radio station
7) Believe it or not - a Cruise Control active light - but this isn't on the MFD, its in the dash...

I think thats it... Don't know whether the washer bottle warning is only with the winter pack / xenons, though...

Overall a great bit of kit, if you are thinking of upgrading to satnav (you can get the VW sat nav units from Ebay for ~£375 and instructions to fit are on here) then definitely hold out for a car with BT...
