Bloody rain!

Not a happy bunny, got to within about 5 miles of my house coming home from work, after seeing half of Yorkshire to avoid the flood, ran into the back of a bloody coach! [:@]

Only had the car about 8 weeks and it's my pride n joy, gutted!

Need:-
New bonnet, if I can get the current one open. Jammed fast and it won't shift at all.
New near side headlight..... if I can get the bonnet off!
Possibly a new front bumper..... yes, if I can get the bonnet off!

Hoping the bumper will spring back to shape if I can get the bonnet up and back into some kind of shape. Maybe just need the grill bits replacing, do these come seperately as, you've guessed it, I can't get the bonnet up to have a look! Maybe just a bit of spit n polish will cover up the marks.

Sooooooo fed up!

Gutted for you mate.

Got any pics so we can share in your pain further?

You can get the grill bits separately but it's an insurance job surely?

Not sure it's worth going thru' the insurance, by the time I've paid my excess and then my premiums when it comes to renewal it could be cheaper to try to sort it myself.
Hoping for an appointment with the "Bank of Wife" later to see if I can borrow some pennies! Totally skint and off to Newquay for a week with the lads soon so need the beer money! It's all about priorities!

Anyone know how much a new bonnet is?

Sorry dude :( Just be careful, as although the damage may look superficial, you really can't tell how much damage has been done underneath and to the chassis. It doesn't take much for things to twist or buckle slightly, which can cause big problems now and later on in the cars life.

I'd get it checked out professionally before you invest any money into the car.

Gunna take it tomorrow, don't think it will have damaged anything major. It looks just like panel damage from the outside and radiator, air con, etc all look ok. I only just touched the "big lump of metal" and am surprised it's as bad as it is but they are higher than cars so the bonnet took the worst of it.

We'll see tomorrow but am on a total downer now..... Just spoke to the garage this aft. to chase up the mats that were supposed to be in the car when I got it 8 weeks ago and then did this!

some may say lala land....
I had to replace my bumper after hitting a tow bar, caused me to stop dead. Driver in front never got out or anything to query, when I had front bumper of it also showed i needed a new stress member otherwise all would look out of shape, so unfortunately, until the lift bonnet and remove bumoer you'll neever really know.

sorry though, can be a real pig sometimes.

Well, car now picked up and having it's brow mopped in the car hospital. Worked out it was gunna be far too much for me to pay for so it's an insurance job.

Good news is that it looks like it's mostly, if not all, panel damage. Everything else looked ok so I'm hoping it will be fixed and back with me very soon.

Other bit of good news is that I asked the bloke to save me the bumper & splitter when they'd finished with it, anybody wanting a slightly (very slightly) damaged red FR+ front bumper complete with splitter let me know. I need some way of getting my excess back! :D
