Blanking off EGR valve(s)

take it off, and get a pipe made up, with a access point in for a boost gauge to be plugged in there.

One thing you should know though is, that the Engine management light will come on if you eithe reduce the flow of the EGR or take it off.

Help me a bit more then please?
If I'm not to blank it and I don't vent it into the inlet manifold how do I vent it?

And if I get a pipe made up to mount a boost guage sender, where quite should my pipe go from and too?

Thanks

Erm as far as im aware, you should be able to take off the plastic boost pipe that runs up along the left hand side of the engine, then it goes around and into the EGR, if you get the pipe made from the top just after the bend, and then to the inlet manifold that should be ok. Ill get you a picture up shortly.

see in this picture, after the blue pipe, you have the metal pipe, and that has replaced the EGR valve.

on the skoda forums there is talk of a proper flowed egr gasket thats 10mm instead of 30mm. its supposed to improve all aspects of driveability and performance and not chuck up any lights

It only happens on the seat for some reason. The place where i got mine done are a very well know diesel tuning company in gloucester, and i would trust them with my car and my life, he said it doesnt happen on skodas, audi or vw's just seats for some reason.

the engine stutter? its only supposed to happen on BLT engine codes, its to do with the EuroIV compliancy, my seat doesnt do it, a lot of Fabia VRS do and audi and VW have officially said "its not a problem, its a characteristic"

Yeah i read a thread recently that the BLT engine stutters occasionally, mines an ASZ and it doesnt do it at all.

Beat me to it Nic, mine was Ok too.

What year is your car, Mexicorich ?

You can reduce the EGR in vag-com for starters, although it won't stop it completely.

My car has the engine stutter on the BLT engine code and the dealer are refusing to acknowledge it....

With regards to winding back the EGR settings, the downsides are to the environment. The EGR valve is there to help prevent the engine producing as much nitrogen oxide and dioxide, particularly when not running at peak power.

ive thought about taking my egr apart to see what my gasket looks like, see if mines a different shape or the holes smaller, as my BLT doesnt do it and people have said that a different shape or smaller diameter egr gasket has solved a lot of them.

Bollox to the enviroment, im not bothered, im gonna have a petrol car next year, and im gonna make sure it pollutes **** loads, especially when you have to pay £190 a year in road tax.

i think if it produced nitrogen oxide (nos) they would try and recirculate that back into the system will go like made then!

Amen to that

What about the old nail trick with the EGR and then just turn it to minimum settings with VAG COM
