Blacksmoke/fuel cap

Hi all im a new member,i just bought my white leon cupra tdi rep,very nice car chuffed with it,although there is a couple of issues with it.
every now and then the car spits out black smoke,now i noticed that there is too much oil in it(innit) ha only joking,could this have something to do with it???

Also my fuel cap doesnt open when u press the button,i have to open it with my fingers,which really isnt a good look,please could you leave me some comments,it would be much apprieciated

AFAIK - black smoke would be unburnt fuel, it would be blue smoke if it was oil

what he sed !! but get rid of some of that oil could cause problems if you didn't put it in take it back and moan ooo err missus

If it was smoking all the time then I would check if the air filter is dirty and the turbo boost pipes (the ones to and from the inter-cooler) are not leaking. I would possibly add a shot of Millers Diesel additive (DSP 4) to see if that helps.

As mentioned above I don't know if the over oiling will cause this occasional black smoke. I would have thought it would be blue not black.

I wonder if its related to this hot weather we are getting and the car overfuelling.
