Binding Brakes After Bleed

On Friday I fitted some new front pads and discs on my 05 plate FR, after which I proceeded to bleed the brakes in an Eezibleed. The seal on the Eezibleed wasn't too good, so I decided to do it the two person way, thoroughly bleeding the master cylinder (from both nipples) followed by the ABS pump (using Vag Com) and then a good 8 pump per calliper starting on the furthest calliper ands working closer.

After I got the car back on the ground, I went for a gentle test drive and felt some hesitation. Coming to a gentle stop I could feel the brake bind slightly. I drove straight back home and felt the discs, all of which were warm.

I have since gone through the whole process again (and another 1000ml of fluid) to to ensure there is definitely no air left in the system. I checked at each nipple to ensure there were no bubbles left in the system, but still the brakes are binding.

Has anyone come across this before? I've just bought a new pressure bleeder so may give that a go later tonight.

I use the eazibleed all the time and it works fine imo.
You didnt really need to bleed the master cylinder or abs pump usless you changed them or the fluid level go too low in the resurvoir. If it was just a simple fluid change you dont need to touch them. My brembo pistons were sticking once a simple push in and out with the brake pad sorted it.

See if your caliper pistons are free. thats all i can sugest.

Well, I pressure bled the system and re-bled the ABS pump but still have binding brakes, so I think the seals in the master cylinder may have folded. I have now bought a new master cylinder, has anyone had any experience fitting these? To bench bleed them do you just need two small lines to loop back into the reservoir?

If your brakes are working well and there is no other signs of the MS issue then its not going to be the MS.

Binding brakes isn't air or MS issues.
It'll either be a mechanical issue or just the pads/discs bedding in.
You say the brakes were warm after a drive, there always going to be warm after use.
Binding breaks would be obvious by one alloy getting hot after a shortish drive.
Are you 100% sure its the MS?

Hi Willie, I went for a bit of a longer test and had to pull over as the brakes were binding more and more as they heated up. By the time I stopped they were well over 100 degress as a spash of water confirmed. A couple of days later I re-bled the ABS pump, although this time for longer and when the ABS pump actuated I kept my foot hard down (rather than returning half way in fear of blowing a seal).

This has made the pedal sit much lower and I can now drive without excessive heat. The ABS is kicking in when needed and the brakes don't feel spongy but when rolling to a slow stop I can feel a tiny amount of binding.

This has completly baffled me, but I will have another go at bleeding the ABS pump this weekend followed by the whole system again. I will also have the rear callipers off to check they are returning ok!
