has anyone else used a bike rack on their mk3 seat ibiza cupra t before? I ask this question as I have a rack which connects over the top of the tailgate and underneath. When I connect it over the top and apply any sort of pressure it pulls on the spoiler at the top of the tailgate. Just basically wanting to know if i use this bike rack will it rip my spoiler off (and lose my bike somewhere!) or have other people had no probbs. any suggestions would be brilliant.

p.s. checked the search function but it didnt give me the exact match im after.

I have a friend who used a bike rack on the back of there cupra and the results were not pretty..... spoiler ripped off and dents on the boot and rear panels.... I use the one that fits to roof bars and I have never had any problems....

bike rack on a cupra?

like putting a tow bar and caravan on a Porsche, its just not the done thing.

I put my bike (specialzed BIGHIT experet for those who know bike will know the size) with only the back wheel off no probs. just youve got a two seater then.

would put bike in the back but it gets covered in crap from the muddy trax etc. not really bothered about my bike on the back anyway really as its not exactly a permanent fixture.

Have you looked into roof bars at all, there are mounting point s on the roof for them and a half decent one from halfords arnt that dear.

i generally just put sheets down in the back covering everything but any mud on the car, just let it dry and then gently rub and hoover off.

you sold your dc2, thats a shame, nearly brought one instead of the cupra, absolutly stunning cars!!!

yeah, was a quality motor. remarkable for a 1.8. had it a year and was offered near enough what i paid for it so i let it go (didnt really want to but couldnt resist). will have a look on the halfords site for those bars, any idea of the model no.?

yeah looks good, got an older version of the same at home. you might neet to get the rails first and then they attach to the rails. either way its not to expensive and you wont damage the car at all.

i tried to use rear racks before, they are a pain in the bum at the best of times. for my mrk 4 ive got roof racks, they do work out lil pricey at around £150 all in for one bike, but are a lot more secure.

you will need mounts to suit the car, the bars and associated bike rack.
