I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT THE SERVICE I RECEIVED RECENTLY AT BICKETS SEAT IN KILMARNOCK (SCOTLAND) WAS ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS.
I PURCHASED A LEON TDI FR 170 IN CRONO YELLOW WITH BODYKIT AND MIKE FERGUSON (SALES MANAGER) AND THE CHAPS COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL AND WERE VERY EASY TO DEAL WITH. THEY ARE A SMALL FAMILY RUN GARAGE BUSINESS AND UNLIKE MANY OF YOU BIG RETAILERS THEY TAKE TIME WITH YOU AND TREAT YOU LIKE A PERSONAL FRIEND RATHER THAN JUST ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO A SALES TARGET. I HAVE SINCE RECOMMENDED A FEW FRIENDS TO VISIT BICKETS AND THEY HAVE ALL BOUGHT CARS AND COMMENTED ON THE RELAXED NO PRESSURE ATTITUDE OF THE SALES STAFF.
WWW.BICKETS.CO.UK HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Just thought I would put bickets up the ranking a bit. No reason especially.

Again, the sales guys at Bickets are great and worth popping in to see even for a blether LOL.

Bought my black magic Leon FR+ TDi from these guys just over a year ago. It's a bit out of Glasgow but they had 2 of the same car, same reg, same colour available, but with a difference of 6000 miles and £500. The less expensive (higher miles) one looked abused, scraped alloys etc so went for the more expensive one. Mike would not budge on price but eventually got £500 out off him

My favourite bit was I turned up with my wife in a battered Y reg tolly. Mike suggested I take the car for a test drive and then said that no-one else was at the dealers so I would have to go out on my own (with the wife of course)! he moved the car out on to the road, put garage plates on it and without taking any of my details suggested a route where I could "open it up"!:D. I couldn't believe it. Soon as I got back knew I wanted the car. Now that's a sneaky sales tactic eh!

I had to arrange some finance to buy the car and Mike was very understanding that I could get a much better deal from my bank so held on to the car while I arranged the finance and insurance. They also then taxed it for me (although I had to pay for that) so i could pick it up the following week. The vehicle was ready waiting fopr me as arranged.

All in all a very pleasurable experience.

I also have to add that I use W Livingstone's in Uddingston for servicing as i stay in the east end of Glasgow. Service is superb. The parts manager has an encyclopedic knowledge of Seat parts. My car's warranty expires in December and I have a very good local mechanic (Autosafe in Shettleston) but I was seriously considering sticking with Livingstone's for servicing but then i went and got a remap. I don't think the Service manager is a big fan of remaps so will probably use my local mechanic.

Mike has now left Bickets which is a shame as he was great to deal with however Colin McNair still works there and is nice to deal with as well. He is one of the good guys.

As for Livingstones Sandy the service manager is a stickler for remaps but I think he just turns a blind eye. Price wise Livingstones are pretty competitive for servicing too.

Alot of the guys have left Bickets now. Verve bought us out last January and a lot of redundancies have been made now. I've been a mechanic there for 4 & 1/2 years now dealing with the Seat side and probably serviced some of your cars through time. Place has gone seriously downhill now since Verve tookover. But anyone wanting any services on the side ;) you know who to PM. will also ensure your service books get stamped alongside some discounted service parts.

Sorry to hear that the place has gone downhill since the Verve takeover. I dealt with Colin and Mike before I got my Leon. Very nice guys and I wanted to buy my car there but we couldn't work out a deal at the time.

Shame to hear that Bickets has become Verve. Being part of a faceless multi-franchise won't have done it much good as Coliniv pointed out. I guess they were a victim of the faltering economy making it easy to persuade the owners to sell.

Coliniv, I would happily ask you to service my car but you're a bit out the way..... although it gives me an excuse to take a long drive :)

Just glad I've got Livingstons out in Uddingston and my local mechanic. The small family run business' are the ones with the real expertise and customer service. It's not about hitting sales targets with them and they really appreciate you business.

Anything but a victim of the economy, the owners sold out when the business was booming, just before all this hit.
If anything it has strengthened the company (Bickets), now being part of a larger, more robust group.
I'm still there passionately selling the brand, and trying the provide same level of service we have become famed for.
