The thing is, the difference in engines, N/A to Turbo charged is the deciding factor in initial and end-game performance gains. The turbo creates fake HP. When it isn't on boost, the car isn't the same beast it is, once spooled.
The turbo just gives the short kid a stool to stand on for 10 mins.. he isn't taller, really.. but just appears to
(I like that analogy). Fact is, a N/A 180BHP engine vs. a Turbo charged 180BHP... the N/A should outrun the turbo.
Spend big ££££ and you'll get a fast car, but as already mentioned.. you will soon reach the point where buying an LC would give you a much better launch pad to work from. £3000 for a 00 plate 1.8T 20v (or thereabouts) and 1.6 will feel dead and slow in comparison.
