Good Morning all,

I've been very lucky to have already received my Christmas present from my parents. I got a Auto Rae Chem Snow Foam Lance attachment for my pressure washer.

I have the following questions regarding the usage of it before I go ahead and try to get it right:-

1) Do I blast off the dirt from the car 1st, then apply the Snow Foam.
2) Has anyone worked out the best ratio of the mix for the application of the Snow Foam?
3) Once I have apply the Snow Foam do I just blast it off after its had a few minutes to attack the grime.
4) I take it I will just wash the car in the normal two bucket method once all the Snow Foam is washed off.

Any other tips would be appreciated to keep my Cupra in tip top condition over these winter months.

Spray the entire car with snow foam first before anything else, let it sit for around 5 minutes then rinse off, then wash the car as normal after if you feel it needs it.

I usually fill half the bottle with snow foam, half with hot water, works great.

This is what i tend to do.

1) Blast the car with pressure washer as much as possible.
2) 1" of snowfoam and a squirt of shampoo then fill up with hot or cold water. Do it slowly so it doesnt foam up in the bottle.
3) Spray the car however you have to get balance right between suds and water so it sits on the car for approx 5-6 minutes not longer. You want it to be thick enough to loosen dirt off the car but thick enough to have time to do so.
4) Pressure wash everything off.
5) Two bucket method for washing and jobs a gooden

Hope this helps.

^^^ exactly the same as my process and using the same volumes in the bottle on the lance

Only time this changes is if i want to strip back any previous layers of wax etc... then i add in a good measure of APC.

Blasting the car first is the wrong thing to do, the snow foam is supposed to be applied to a dirty car so it can loosen and lift the dirt particles off the surface. Blasting a dirty car will just push dirt across the surface causing micro-marring.

Thanks for your replies. I gave my Snow Foam Lance its 1st try today as I've just come back from a weekend away to Centre Parcs @ Penrith.

I put just less than 1/2 a bottle of solution in and the rest with hot water. Applied the snow foam to the car, then left it for 5 minutes then blasted it off with the dirt blaster.

I very impressed overall with the amount of foam that comes out of the lance and how clean the car actually looks with doing the two bucket method.

I havent seen any evidence of micro marrying from pressure washer however I do accept the logic behind it.
