Best quality springs

Was just wondering what make of spring that lowers 40-45mm is the best quality?

Local car shops offer mostly Apex,Pi, G max and Jamex

Cars a 110 tdi

I was lookin to buy the JOM 40mm spring and shock kit but there seems to be no guarantee that it would fit my tolly, although it does fit the tdi leons

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers RickC

Heard Koni are decent too for just springs, only really want to go 40 to 45mm max as I do believe i'll bugger my shocks if I slam it further :(

And I be far too skint to go all out for coilies or better quality springs and shocks, 18 yr old student here;)

Any links to H+R, Koni or Eibach 40 or 45mm spring kits?

sorry Damian for posting that link in your section,

coilovers are ok for budget but a good quality set of shocks and springs will be far superior

I agree coilovers can be a pain in the arse, had experience of them, don't rate them, less hassle if you just stick to springs themselves or go for springs and struct set, complete package, hope your listening ;)

Coilies?

Don't tempt me lol

As much as i would love to be able to fiddle with the ride height to get it perfect, I live on country roads that wouldn't look out of place in downtown baghdad :S

So I think 40mm springs will be more forgiving

Besides, saw some cars with a 40mm drop, like 1.9 stefan's tolly
And it looks nice and subtle, but also comfy enough I guess

Cheers fellas

I wouldn't dismiss a full suspension package. While I appreciate you're on a budget, just doing the springs puts a different load on to the dampers and they can wear out faster. Even a relatively small drop will affect the dampers lifetime.

If you want something to 'fiddle' with, perhaps some adjustable dampers would give better results? Although I've no idea on appropriate manufacturers!
