Hi,
Just got myself a 51 plate leon and am planning to do aload of modifications before I get it taxed, insured
First off is a race spec dawes device ok for these for raising the boost and what is the max I can go?
Will be adding a front mount, whats the pipework like for it?
Are there many aftermarket front bumpers available?
Brakes upgrage, bigger rotas on same calipers?
Best valve straight through exhaust and ram air cleaner
What chip is available at a reasonable price as I dont want to go new ecu with this car

Thanks for the advice in advance

Remap - Loads info on this in the Mod section
Forge - For your front mount
Brakes - To be honest, I would change them as your top end isn't going to change and your current brakes will still stop you in the same time, only your torque/bhp will increase
Forge - dv007p dump valve
Fabia - rear wiper arm
Bumper - Check ebay, usually Cupra R bumpers on there, but you'll need new fog lights and some other bits...

Only change the standard pads to something like pagid fr's, ive never found the car lacking in braking even with stage 2 revo etc.
The rear wiper looks 10 times better if you go to a fella called wolfsburg parts on ebay, i got my wiper of him and wipes a respectable area and still looks great.
front mounted forge i/c is easy if you have the time and a flat driveway.

as for dawes device, youre shitting me right?
The vag 20vt engine is a very technical one and relies on a lot of sensors for sweet running, adding a toilet cistern arm isnt going to help things.

Thanks guys,
Oh I may have bought the cupra model cant remember :cartman:

Have afew bits in the garage and my huge front mount isnt going to fit as the inlet outlet are on different sides, could make my own pipework though

Will just dtick some decent pads in the fronts and maybe a strut brace

As for the dawes, I currently have this is my nissan and it hold boost perfectly and supports 350bhp at 15psi, only taking it off as I've just bought a boost contolled to go with my apexi pfc [B)]

For what its worth, you can play with boost via a remap and a device called an sps3 (revo specific device which plugs into your diagnostic port and allows you to increase boost and timing depending on what sort of petrol and state of tune you are running...to a point) and a couple of other companies run a similar setup.

what sort of money do these cost, could be a worth looking into if not over 500

need funds for the front mount, induction, pads, radiator etc

A stage 1 remap will give you a noticeable hike in power but putting a FMIC on it isn't going to do an awful lot if you're running stock.

yup a fmic on standard map etc will slow you down a tad if anything, whats made in colder air is lost on the pressure drop of around 1psi. wind up the boost and then youre talking! on my leon it was very very noticeable that the std fmic would heat up after 2 mins of pushing on, with the fmic you can sit in traffic for 15 mins and watch the temps rise (via vagcom) then 20 seconds down the road they are as if youd never stopped.

will not be stock map forsure :D

so just explain the parts required and performance with each stage

I would guess something like this

stage 1 remap, exhaust, filter

stage 2 above plus front mount, fuel pump

stage 3 above plus larger turbo, injectors oh a clutch

You shouldn't need to do anything with the fuel pump at stage 2. FPR maybe.....

what power level are you going for?

a 180 cupra with remap will be 220ish, sports cat/bigger dp will give an extra 10ish. you wont get a lot more out of the ko3s turbo. fmic will give better power holding.. but thats about tops... good pads brakewise

then you either go ko4/hybrid which will hopefully get 280 odd possibly more.. but then you need to think brakes.
theres a few turbos out there taking you to 320/350 but lc internals need improving after 320+ or they would in my case.. if planning big power get a good flowing fmic. i had a forge but it didnt flow easierly at these hp levels.

upgrading your current turbo wont be cheap

theres loads of info on here mate.. search button is your best friend
