Best Handling Car 2006

Has anyone seen the review in Autocar this week, it reviews 18 of the best handling cars of 2006. The Leon FR (petrol) comes in at 18th. They say that the handling is to soft and to make matter worse they use a Focus 1.6 as a benchmark and they say that despite it being obviosuly underpowered handles better then the Leon (and Alfa GTV and BMW Z Copue)!!!!

Also the 0- 60 time is posted as 8.3 seconds when any other 2.0T VAG engined cars are tested (e.g. golf and octavia) they usually record a time of less than the manufacturers figures (mid sixes)!!!!!

don't think they know what they are on about, the TDI is 0-62mph in 8.2secs and the TFSI is 7.3 seconds

To be fair the Focus handles so bloody well as a stardard car, having said that the LEON Mk2 is brillaint I loved it, and there is no way it should be 18th

Guys..
Allways remeber that 99% of people who work for these mags no F all about cars, I was reading once an article in autocar talking about the differant oils and how they should be used and it said 20/50 is for high performance turbo charged cars and 0-30 is for old cars, probably the worst inforamtion you could ever give someone who nows nothing about cars!! , I love the way that if you have 3 cars which share the exact same chassis and suspension in these mags they get three completely differant reviews for handling, I think they just go on parkers guide and them make something up .

Agree they know very little about the cars they test apart from what they are given by the manufacturer. I took an FR out for 30min test drive with the g/f on twisty country roads and i loved it Cracking car if you ask me, putting my deposit down on the Cupra in Nov - i hope.

Read 'long term test' in an old Autocar the other night on the BMW Compact 320d. They were raving about the Xenon lights, funny thing was the car in the pictures that they had been driving for 6 months didnt have Xenon lights silly s@ds..........
