Becker HU vs. Alpine HU + Aftermarket Speakers

Hi,

Just got a Leon TDi Cupra and am desperate to dump the standard HU. I want something which doesn't stand out too much and being pleased with Alpine HU's fitted to previous cars, was planning to go for another. However after looking through the forum, Becker HU's seem to get great reviews but are a lot more expensive. So the question is:

Will the Becker Grand Prix 7992 with standard speakers sound better than the Alpine CDA-9852RR with aftermarket speakers?

Cheers,

Dan

Hiya mate.

Are you using Alpine aftermarket speakers?

If so, deffo go Alpine as they design all their gear to work in harmony.

If not, becker

I'm still running the standard speakers at the moment but unfortunately not the most patient so went ahead and bought the Alpine unit and am well pleased with it :D

Looking at either the Alpine SPE-17CS or SPS-171A all round - anyone tried either of these?

Becker!

I've recently replaced my Alpine 9853R for a Becker Mexico Pro and it's improved sound quality even with the standard speakers. With aftermarket speakers the improvement will be greater still, regardless of which brand of speaker you buy.

Alpine speakers work just as well with all makes of headunit, so don't be fooled into thinking they only work best with Alpine headunits, it really doesn't work like that.
