Hi Guys,

What is your opinion on BBS RC's ? I've got the chance to get some split rims in the following fitment:

17"
7.5j Fronts - 195 45 17
8.5j Rears - 205 45 17
ET41

The PCD is 5 x 120 so i will need adapters all rouind 15mm thick i'm no good with calculating ET's and rubbage would these fit an Ibiza FR? Had a look in the wheel thread on FAQ's couldnt see these listed that they fit over the 312mm brakes either ?

Think they could look sweet with a nice colour scheme and a polished lip. What would you pay with tyres almost mint condition.

I think that with 15mm adapters you might get some rubbing on the front as the ET would then be ET26. I don't think you'd have any issues with the rears, I have 15mm spacers on mine with room to spare, a lot of people go 20mm.

Also I'd change all the tyres for 205/40/17. Good fit on the front, nice stretch on the rear.

Overall I think they'd look good. If you're buying second hand you could just go ahead and buy them and if they don't work out, sell them on for what you paid. I'm sure someone on ED38 will bite your arm off seen as they say BBS on them.

I'm guessing they're BBS RC041/042? Nice wheels...was considering them for mine at one stage.

They'd be ok on the rear, would sit similar to my current wheels which are ET38 with 20mm spacers = ET18...they very rarely rub on the arches. Fronts might rub a bit, but shouldn't be too bad.

I'd go for 195/40/17 on the fronts, and 205/40/17 on the rears.

willtheyfit.com is a good website for calculating offsets, fitment etc.

Thanks for the help, according to willtheyfit:

Old New
Diameter 595.8mm 607.3mm
Circumference 1871.8mm 1907.9mm
Poke 45.9mm 69.3mm
Inset 131.9mm 121.3mm
Speedo error 0% -1.89%
Reading at 30mph 30mph 29.43mph
Reading at 60mph 60mph 58.86mph
Ride height gain 0mm 5.75mm
Arch gap loss 0mm 5.75mm

I suppose its mainly the "poke" i want to worry about ? for fouling the arches anyway. Above is calculating with an ET of 26 on a 195 width tyre (fronts) so assuming i have 1.5cm of clearence in the arches at the moment I shouldnt experience any major rubbing ?

I have worked the above out on the basis a standard FR wheel is ET 43 which i believe to be correct
