Background noise for 1.4 mk2 stereo

Hi,
Just got a brand new pioneer stereo for my 1.4 mk2 ibiza and there is an annoying hum when i play any kind of music, on the radio, ipod or cd player. I dont think its the cd player as it works fine in other cars. I have also checked the earth from the battery, scrubbed up all the connections with wire wool and used a silicone based grease to no avail.

One suggeestion I was given was that a bad circuit containing my boot light could be the problem, but after taking the fuse out of this circuit the buzzing still remained.

The only other thing I could consider doing is trying to earth the stereo to another location, but I dont know wether this is expensive or difficult?

Just wondering if anyone could give me any tips to sort the problem out.

Thanks x

Dont think its electrival fault, it just stays the same pitch etc. all the time. Tryed moving the power lead around in the back to see if it was interefering but no change, just a constant hum. Its not serious but after spending a fair amount on a stereo just want it to sound perfect x

Which pioneer model did you get? The more expensive models have a separate earth cable that you need to earth yourself (if that makes sense).
