The man is a legend... watch his technique on exiting a corner, tapping the throttle, very different.

the tapping the throttle was his trade mark, although its exagerated on a road car as it understeers more.
He liked to enduce slight oversteer through a corner and would 'steer' with both his hands and feet.

If you ever saw him during qualifying when the car was not quite set up right you would see the difference between him and the rest. Unbelievable.

White socks though.

I suppose when you drive like that, you could wear purple socks with blue elephants on and no one would care. Might been quite stylish in Japan at the time.
