Autometer Phantom II question.

Hi there,
Has anyone got an Autometer Phantom II gauge?
If so, can you remove the glass/plastic lens on the front?
I want to paint the numbers red, using transparent red paint/lacquer to get the closest match to OE gauges on my LCR....
Any help would be gratefully received!

If its anything like the phantom 1 then probably not.
Plus if you did get in it would be through the back then you have to be extremely careful you dont damage the copper tube, its angle or the spring otherwise it wont read properly.
But there maybe some way in but highly likely to scratch or damage it

I like a challenge!
And as the honda ad says.... Difficult is worth doing.
Plus mine will be the only spot on gauge match on a leon.
If it works, ill let you know!
