I can't see or feel any
problem with the steering on mine (yes, its lowered as well)...and that is coming from someone who owned two RS Clios prior. Granted, there is very little in this class of car that can take a corner like the clio (you really should see the speed they can carry through a corner); but there is nowt wrong with the cupra steering imo. Journalist need to ensure that they write something positive and negative, and they probably all just end up on the same bandwagon anyway. Regardless of the car, you could guarantee they always start with the positive, followed by the negative.
Take Toyota GT86, for example, specifically design to be low weight, rev hungry, N/A engine, skinny tyres etc ... to bring the fun back into motoring. Journalists love it...but then go on to say that it needs more power. In order to get more, the car needs either a larger capacity engine, or the engine needs charged in some way...hence adding more weight...hence defeating the purpose of the original design. That's just journalists ... They need to write something they like / dislike IMO.
Incidentally, I dont see much overall difference between face-lift cupra and existing cupra (except obvious visual aesthetics to the front). Reading
reviews, you would think the new car is night and day an improvement on the older model. Seems to me there is F.A. difference in reality... Slight suspension tweek and a remap?!? Is that it, am I missing something jaw-droppingly different??? That's the difference between previous 3 star
review of the car and now a 4 star
review??? Having said that, I quite like the visual appearance of the revised front end.
