Auto hold won’t come off

Can’t figure this out maybe someone has already found the solution.
Auto hold comes on normally but won’t release the brakes when I’m about to move off
Have the car about the a week and the auto hold has been working grand but today it started acting up
I Can feel the car come up to the bite point letting out on the clutch and the auto hold won’t switch off
Car ended up stalling the first time because the autohold wouldn’t come off
Haven’t a notion if I’ve done something wrong or what’s the problem
Hopefully someone does
Thanks

Can you try putting it in reverse, that should release auto hold and give you a clue as to whether it is a fault in sensors or not.
On my mk2 auto hold doesn't last forever, after maybe 5 or 10 secs it releases after taking my foot off the brake.
It acts only like a temporary brake so a gear can be engaged and move off.

My 2018 mk3.5 Leon's Autohold will operate for as long as the car is stationary. Pressing the accelerator or selecting neutral releases AH. However, my car does has DSG.

Selecting neutral releases it? Hmmm that doesn't happen on mine but it is the previous mk so I imagine there's increased sophistication.
Mine just seems to operate as a delay in releasing the footbtake or until I try to move off.
I wonder if it's the clutch being released in gear that does it.

Tried it in reverse and same issue was happening
It did end up fixing itself after awhile
Just seems a bit temperamental

The pre facelift version is near enough identical it how it operates to the Mk2, that small delay in the brakes being released type of thing.

The Mk3.5 has an electronic handbrake so is a different kettle of fish altogether. When you come to a stop i the DSG you apply the brake a little harder and a light appears on the dash to show its engaged, then just release your foot and all 4 brakes are kept on until you either pull away, or do something to tell it you parking and it releases the front brakes and just has the handbrake on. I've not had the car 12 months but from memory it was putting it in park and/or turning the engine off.

Sounds like a faulty sensor. Not sure what sensor the auto hold uses, don't think it would be the ABS sensor but they do link in to a lot of others (ABS, traction control, stability control and tyre pressure monitoring). I don't think its just throttle though, as I've been on a hill with it and applied power and it won't disengage until there is enough power to push it up the hill.

If it keeps doing it, video it if you can when you get near home and its safe to do so, then you can get it booked in with evidence, as it may not register a fault via the OBD port for them to diagnose.

The autohold, if it has an error or failure applies the electronic handbrake according to the manual.

The release must have either or both clutch and accelerator sensors taken into account. Abs won't know anything if the vehicle is stationary.
