Hello,
I have an issue with a 2009 Seat Ibiza Automatic. The vehicle was brought in needing a lot of work from auction.
It had an issue with the wiring where the alternator was not charging so the car battery quickly went flat ie non runner. This issue was sorted by running a new cable from the alternator to the BCM.
Now, I have the car running and went to take it a drive. It has fault code P073F won’t go into first gear.
The car seems to take off in second then jumps to 4th then jumps back to second leaving high revs.
My thinking though is both of these issues are issues that stop the car running so how can a car have these 2 current problems. I am probably clutching at straws but could the gearbox issue be caused if the car was towed due to alternator failure and need reprogrammed?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
