audio upgrade

Hi Does anybody know whether you need a wiring loom if you replace the standard stereo with a different stereo such as a pioneer (about 2yrs old) the garage that i usually take my cars to reckon i need this as the vehicle was registered after march 2006, my car is a seat ibiza 1.9tdi 2006 reg.

welcome aboard.

not as far as i'm aware, you just take out old, plug in new one and your away.
plenty of other posts (MK1 Leon) also state about needing a new areal booster and the red and yellow cable need to be switch.
A quick search should find what your after.

Yes, its standard Pioneer one, I got a Kenwood for mine, all it does though is reverse a couple of power wires, the yellow and red I think, might as well do it yourself and save a few pennies, also makes it a bit more cramped too with the extra wires.
