ASV Tuning Questions

brightsideteeem

I'm not like you guys...
I have a remapped ASV engine (Leon SE 110), and im hungry for more power.
What options can i go for? Ive heard the term "hybrid turbo" flung around, and I'm still quite confused as to what it actually is. From what i gather, its a modified turbo so you can put a bigger turbo on another car? eg. putting a PD130 turbo onto a 110tdi?

i dont want to spend, silly money, but I am interested to see if there are any other options.

Upgraded injectors? (off VW transporter?)
Boost Controller?
FMIC?
De Cat?

Im quite confused as what my next move would be, all i know is i want more power, and i havent the foggyest of what to do next!

Any help would be appreciated

Rob

I've fitted the larger injectors and CAI on my 110, and with a remap its kicking out 159bhp. I am planning a muffelrectomy next, which should unleash a few more horses. I've also noticed that in summer when the weathers warmer, it loses a bit of power, so I think a fmic would be a good idea as well.

It outdrags my mates Mondeo ST200:), the diesels torque really comes into its own.

Basically, you want :

Decent exhaust system, decat etc
Cold air feed to airbox (smoothed airbox) with aftermarket panel filter
Pd150 egr manifold
Pd150 airbox to turbo pipe

Then :
Pd130 or 150 turbo
Nozzles or injectors from a t4 150bhp transporter van
Fmic if you want, but isn't neccessary
Then custom remap

Hope this helps ;)

Any questions mate, gimme a shout

thanks for that, appreciated :D, do u have a key word to search to find out how to do the cold air feed? i do have an open filter (not on the car as MAF issues) so would i just use the normal panel filter?

Im thinking of a job i can do tommorow hehe

Also any pics of what anyone has done? Just as a visual aid lol

Im no mechanic, just a keen interest in cars really, i am capable, as long as i have good instructions, if that makes sense

Use the standard airbox, smooth it out and put in a after market panel filter such as pipercross, green cotton etc. Then there is a small cold air feed going from airbox to behind the headlight. Take this out and get a 3 or 4 inch feed to put from inside the airbox down to the bumper. Hope this helps ;)

first of all, i'd mount a bigger intercooler. you may also decat the exhaust.
further mods depend on what power will satisfy you.

standard exhaust is ok for now so you don't need to think about a new complete exhaust at the moment.

sorry for my english. :)

You dont need a bigger intercooler, im running the power in my sig on standard side mount and its fine, i just want a fmic to run better, but the standard side mount is fine

You will get a lot of peope telling you what to add, where and why but look at the end costs- quite often with these on top you could trade in for a top spec model and then start from there that would give you a better ROI.

take a look on uk-mivs there is some good posts relating to 110 on there.
