My front ashtray wont latch shut. Anyone experienced this? I want to know whether there's an easy fix - sdomething out of alignment - or whether the latch must have broken .

I noticed this on my Leon when I first test drove it. The garage fixed it before I collected the car though so no idea what caused it.

fluke...

I am sorry for you. I had the same thing and unfortunately it was a broken lever that won't fix. The dealer was the one who broke it and they provided a total replacement for it.

The reason i think is a very quick closure, or an opposit force downside without givig the spring a normal cling action.

wish it is only a screw. I think it is around 30-40 pounds.

I should get it done under warranty. It's the time it takes I can 't afford.
