Hi
I went back to uni at stupid o'clock in the morning cos I couldnt sleep so thought i would take advantage of the empty roads and this morning i found my ariel had been yanked out of the base and was on the floor next to my car!!!
I now have the worst reception ever. Not sure what it damaged
Anyone have any ideas???
Cheers
Ollie

If you're lucky it'll just push back in and then screw in to tighten.

More likely is that the thread's have been stripped (my car has this problem) and you'll not be able to screw the aerial back in properly. If this is the case then you'll have to replace the base of the aerial which (if i recall correctly) requires taking down the roof lining

Hope its the first one!

Unfortunatly its the latter, no screwing in anymore :( . Is the any chance i can get one of those universal fit jobbies, with a slightly bigger thread that will stay in and make a connection???
I wouldn't have a clue how to take the headlining off, and replacing the base even less so
DOH!!!!

i think you'd be lucky, the chances are the bigger thread will be too big.

to get the headlining down is not particularly difficult, but it does require some car. usually you have to remove plastic trims from around the headlining and then pull carefully.

the ariel is quite near the edge so you may well be able to do it just by peeling it down a bit.
