my car isn't boosting properly since i replaced the maf. it used to boost up to 1.2 bar and then settle down at 1bar. now it boosts up to 1.2 bar, but then drops off rapidly to about 0.8 bar.

we had my car on vagcom and it came up with a fault code, the guy at vagtech said it was my n75 valve that has gone, so i've bought a new n75f. it used to be an n75c on there but apparently the f is the newer version.

so anyway, i've fitted the new n75 valve and it seems to have made no difference at all. i'm pretty sure i've fitted it the right way.......

can somebody confirm this is definitely the right way up?

i have also just replaced my maf too.

can somebody just confirm which of those pipes hanging off that u can see, goes on which tube on the n75?

i had a thought a minute ago that this problem only seemed to rear its head when i replaced the maf. could i have a wrong maf on there?

it has lost a load of power since i replaced the maf.

it used to boost up to 1.2 bar and then settle at 1 bar. now it boosts up to 1.2 bar then boost drops off rapidly to 0.8 bar.

i can't remember what hte fault code was, something like positive or negative deviation, but the guy said it was the n75 that was causing it.

Sounds like negative boost deviation which means the car is failing to make the requested boost. I'd check all of your boost pipes along with the fine vac lines that run on top of the engine (these may look ok but they WILL need replacing with silicon hose). If all these hoses look ok and are nice and tight i'd reset the ECU (disconnect the battery for 10-15 mins, then do a TBA (do a search) and take the car for a spanking once it's warmed up).
